THIS MONTH AT GRACE
NEEDED! NEEDED! NEEDED! People of Grace to give of a small amount of time. Each year we start our children's rotations over in February. Our children need Sunday School teachers and children's church teachers. What better way to serve Grace Christian and God but by sharing God's love with the children of Grace. These positions are all on a rotation, so you won't be alone. Contact Lori ASAP!
CHURCH-WIDE VALENTINE LUNCHEON will be after the worship service on February 19th, courtesy of CWF.
THE VALENTINE'S DAY STEAK DINNER is now an annual tradition! CWF Group 2 is once again encouraging couples to attend an intimate steak dinner served by candlelight in the Fellowship Hall. This year's dinner will take place on Saturday, Feb 11th at 5:00 p.m. Please make your reservation no later than Sunday, Feb 5th. The cost is $30 per couple.
BIBLE STUDY OF ACTS: Each Thursday evening you are invited to attend this weekly study group at the home of Fred and Claire Blake. Their address is 204 Creden Circle, in the Weatherly subdivision of Alabaster. Please call 621-8316 if you need directions. The starting time is 6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy fellowship and discipleship!
MUSIC NOTES: We have formed a new Ensemble, Grace Recorders, which includes Jennifer, Robby and Sarah Griffin and Phyllis Kirk. Interested in joining? Contact Phyllis Kirk at 960-1877.
SAVE THE DATE, SAVE YOUR STUFF: This year's CWF Yard Sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th. Please begin setting aside any items you would like to donate for the sale!
BOOK SWAP HAS BEGUN: Bring a book(s) and take a book(s). Shelf is located downstairs along the wall to the left of the church calendars.
SPECIAL REQUEST: Please bring your empty, clean Stage 3 baby food jars and squeeze-type ketchup bottles for Nancy Morgan. She uses them for mixing paint for her art class. She sure would appreciate it!

The Work of Elders
The current elders of GCC began meeting on May 11, 2010. Since that time the group has met every 3 weeks to pray for the church collectively, to pray for members individually, and to define the role of elder at GCC, to study and to participate and lead in church functions.
The Year in Review
- Hosted the Young Family Summit
- Initiated contact with Oak Mountain Missions Ministries
- Attended District 2 Elders' Workshop
- Studied Your Calling as an Elder
- Present at baptisms
- Prepared/sold ham biscuits at GCC yard sale
- Coordinated (with others) the 24-hour prayer vigil
- Shared communion and abbreviated worship services with shut-ins
- Covered the Lord's Body at GCC in prayer
Is Elder Ministry Your Calling?
If you have an interest in participating as an elder, please let one of the elders listed above know and ask questions if you have any. (The process will begin soon to replace elders who will be "rolling off*" at the end of this calendar year.)
ATTENTION PARENTS OF OUR GRACE CHILDREN
The First Friday evening of each month our Youth will be hosting a Children's Night Out from 6PM to 9PM at Grace. The cost is $10 (1st child) and $5 for each additional child. Please call Nancy Morgan at 335-5334 to make reservations for your children to attend. They'll have a great time!
